To Smokers with love-II, Thankyou for smoking

Dear smoker,

We are highly obliged and grateful to you. You are no less than a martyr who does good to the economy of his country at the cost of his life/health. Because government gets more money from your disposable income, sometimes we are saved from extra tariff. Your money is sometimes utilized for various purposes like growth and development of the country, or is utilized for corruption etc. You are also working on over population problem by giving yourself and others ulcers and cancers. You might be bane to the people around you or your near and dear ones, but you are really a boon for the entire nation and those who are not connected to you. You are an employer for thousands of doctors, also because of you the youth is able to decide their stream for career like social work, research, MBBS or being a smoker. You look at the broader picture that we fail to see with our normal eyes.

Thank you for smoking.
Sincerely Yours
Living on your mercy
A common man.

P.S. Please Introspect! Live it, Don't Drag it!!!

  5. Smokers, too, can understand sarcasm, Shesha! And, as Prit proves, some non-smokers do not! Being a smoker, I still can understand where you come from. But pls let us not have a holier-than-thou attitude merely becos of being non-smokers! Enough other things people do to affect themselves adversely and other people too! So, my bad habit is better than yours is no attitude to take:)

    1. Yeah! As i have said before in my comments section, i dont expect people to leave smoking who already have this habit, but people who are planning to give themselves to smoking may think twice!
Why a non-smoker can not take other person's smoking? It very difficult to bear and inhale the smoke for general public like us!
I had a teacher who used to give us lecture after fagging. It was so difficult to bear with his smell( added with the smell of chlormint) in the A/c rooms, i had to sit in the last rows where I hardly could concentrate.

I have seen people into smoking within the family, they could have escaped the cancer disease, but since they enjoyed fagging a lil too much than their family members, they left them in pain.
The main thing is a person who is smoking is enjoying it at the cost of others. had it been a personal affair, and no one of us was affected by the habit, there would have been no sarcastic or normal remarks to compel one to leave it!

    3. I am in full agreement with the contents of your post. You are right in how difficult it is to give up smoking once you have taken it up and you are also right in saying that it is best to have people not start it at all. What I took objection to was that statement is one of the comments 'Hahaha those who have given their brains to smoking wudn't get the sarcasm!'. Readily stereotyping people on the basis of their habits/gender/class is, in my opinion, a far worse crime than any habits can be and far more harmful to society. People can talk of Green environment and ride a SUV to the local mall 3 KM away and not be accused of lacking brains; eat junk all day despite being 'educated' about nutrition and no one will accuse them of lack of brains! So why single out smokers?
And, yes, I certainly do not smoke in public!

    4. @PRIT: this may be misleading for you not for anyone else as i c it!!!

@C.Suresh: I said so as i know people who are into smoking wud dodge the sarcasm. A very dear frnd & bro of mine asked me not to be shallow and regard smoking as a normal habit! I cant, as i know it destroys you from inside!
I have seen younger lot, trying to make an impact and to get noticed, when they look at you, they take out their ciggs, its weird. Some people think its really cool, but Poisons: slow or fast are not cool!!
Rest One may ignore it, as one wishes to.
This Post was presented in a different manner from the regular preachings and teachings to make people re-think! I hope someday I bring a change to smbody's life for good!!! Thats the motto!
      Thanks.

    1. Its a Rehab! Do yout mind it? I would for sure write for the things i believe in, if you disagree you may choose not to read it or ignore it. But i guess in my space i can provide the picture whichever way i see it! I have my own way of presenting things!

About being Childish, i have been reading and re-reading your comments on a few last posts, which are not presenting any view point rather they jump on some third or fourth thing which were beyond my intellect, I see them more childish than this. Even after trying too much, i couldn't gather wt point u wanted to make!!

I m going to write for long, if you disagree, its your view and that is not my problem. Before my blogs I do talk to lot of people to know how they feel and what they feel, what they go through. It comes out from empathy and sensitivity and not from rigidity and denial to look at things differently than how they are!

  7. Well all in all a good post! And it's been a while since I've been reading the comments section of your blogs and finally I'm compelled to give you an advice, that though you like taking everyone equally seriously, there are some extra sentient beings, to whose intelligence that would be derisive, the kinds for whom "It is not necesssary to understand things in order to argue about them". So let them be what they are, and you keep writing good stuff like this.
