Take ten on Why Facebook is a Great Invention:

So its a Mark Zuckerberg's Birthday today. Let me count some Tens on Why Facebook (fb) is a great invention!!!

1. You get connected to the people you want. (even those you don't want! :P) Good connectivity is what matters!!!
2. You no more forget any birthdays and special events... Especially of the wives and girlfriends. Life has become less challenging!
3. You don't need to worry about your spouses' or children's affairs. Out of the habit of status updates and photo tags you can trace them anywhere!!!
4. Photos updates give you an idea what is missing in you own life to make it more exciting. As they say it "An idea can change your life...."

5. House wives are no more cribbing about being idle... (P.S. who the hell are you, they are busier than thou) :P
6. It works better than any other online media. Spreading the word was never so easy. (Social causes)
7. Your home business has a good number of clients without much investments on pamphlets/layouts etc.
8. Your mates are your critics/ fans/ listeners/ supporters, when before no one bothered to know your daily updates, you are now encouraged to pursue your Interests!!!
9. Because of Facebook, you have found long lost friends, relations etc.
10. Now people who didn't know the technology, computers and Internet are well informed with the basics and want to be online to stay connected....

Satyamev Jayate- Female foeticide!

Back in June, 2008, I wrote an article about rapid decline in female ratio: “Why more boys are being born to girls?”. That time, I studied much about the problem and thoroughly studied the cases, articles, statastics which were depressingly shocking.

Causes being:

1. Illiteracy

2. Traditional Mindset of people for male child.

Even the educated, wealthy and so called mordern mindset of urban people doesnt help them in offgaurding their desire for a male child. When today I saw Satyamev Jayate, everything from past that I studied about flashbacked before my eyes. I don’t know how this program will do. I don’t know how many of us who are into female foeticide will understand the problem and stop ourselves from murdering those upcoming lives. The case studies, which were presented were  heart-tearing stories. We have to spread awareness as much as we can, killing a life inside us is not the solution to our desires. How can we become anti-girl child after being born to women, being a woman, having women as our sisters/mothers/friends/wives/beloved in our lives. Nobody is God here to decide the fates of soon to be born lives on the basis of their gender.

We should not forget that if the parents of our mothers decided the same long time back, the devils and vampires like us, living on the blood of girls wouldn’t have been born!

A lady in the todays episode, living on the street  said a very beautiful thing, “We’ll accept the child(soon to be born) be it a son or a daughter, as a blessing from God irrespective of it’s gender.”

 I don’t need to present the same statestics, and studies which were presented in the program, I need to register my support for the cause. We don’t need any gender bais society, we just need children around us, who will giggle, laugh, play around, add beauty to the life and after growing up they’ll make this world more beautiful. Both blue and pink together add that bloom and charm to the world. Alone, its a monotony!  We can pledge, we will never promote such a bias in and around our lives, we will try to cure this sickness of minds!

I wish... “Satyamev Jayate!”

Why to follow anti-corruption movement

1. If you are tired of swinging back and forth from government offices, taking time out from your 9-5 job, for getting your basic work done.
2. If you crib that nothing can be done and system will never change! ( a system will change someday, unless you are a pessimist)
3. The person initiating the cause can be trusted more than any political party in elections for which u vote every 5 years! His past records are clean. No corruption, an army man who fought for India, for his country and is still fighting for it!
4. If you are not scared of fighting. We never give exams to fail, fail or pass comes later! (People thinking :" How can we say adding another layer to the already existing system could be a solution? People in Jana Lokpal could be corrupt." We can’t stop working for our daily bread with the fear we won’t get it)
5. If you can’t stand in elections, can’t give speeches and can’t make a difference, just be with the masses and play the gamble!
6. If you think cause is right but method is wrong : Stand up for the cause!
The ones who think fasting onto death is an offense, there are more severe offenses than that. There is a vast difference between making you suffer for the sake of others’ lives and creating situations for others to die. And hence there is still a big difference between Anna and government respectively. One question raised by a friend on facebook (Megha) “Eat to death or fast to death, what would you prefer?
7. If you are not amongst those who who have a smooth life and have money, corruption/no corruption doesn’t make any difference. Why to bother! I don’t care attitude!
8. If you are tired of watching scam stories on news channels, uncovering one after other biggest corruption scams today, seeing the tax you have paid for benefit of your nation and society being stashed away in foreign banks.
9. If you compare India with US and UK and constantly complain about life here.
10. If you care about the common man more than the party you support!

P.S. Dont think if you are not fasting or not physically present there you fail to support, a mere status update, blog update shows the support! A recent example of Ram Janmabhoomi, Ayodhya case when so many people registered their views on facebook, blog, twitter were acknowledged in news and newspaper. Time has changed and so the electronic media is also used for sampling, interviewing and researches! Think well!

Media Shedia Hai Rabba...

On 14th September we went to attend the book release Function of “Hamare Kaptaan: Nayudu se Dhoni Tak.” by my Fufaji Prof. Surya Prakash Chaturvedi. This was his 9th book on Cricket. The Book is about Indian cricket captains till date and it covers 12 of the greats.

The function went well. The compere withdrew at the last minute, hence mum was given the responsibility. Although she is a writer, Prof. in Delhi University and has compered and conducted many `programs in functions and radio but it was somewhere difficult without any prior preparations. Still she managed well. People who attended the functions have been calling and praising her work. Anyhow here the anecdotes by Fufaji were very interesting and attracted and managed to retain the interest of even a non-cricket fan like me. Virender Sehwag was the main guest at the ceremony and he released the book. He surely is an honorable person, full of ethics and courtesy. His speech was wonderful too. He said he will read the book and since he doesn’t have a cricket background and so his knowledge about former cricket players is not rich. He said he will share the knowledge with the children of his family and his team-mates.
Anyhow the blog title as it suggests is about Media and the expression surely doesn’t depict the praises about the same.
Hence here I go further to the questions and answers session, where people attending the function were given the liberty to ask our chief guest the questions they want to. They were as follows:

Q: If you will be given an Opportunity to be the Captain of India, what strategies would you like to follow?
Sehwag: I think there is no need as of now for me to be the captain.

Q: Still if there is a do or die situation and you have no other option?
Sehwag: I will do my best then. If there will be an offer, I surely will accept it and will do justice with it. But I think team is doing great under Dhoni’s Captainship and is making new records.

Q: Who is your favourite captain?
Sehwag: Team is doing very well under Dhoni and Saurav Ganguly was also very good.

Q: Still who's your ideal?
Sehwag: Sourav Ganguly

Q: What is your say about CWG?
Sehwag: All the Best to them.

Q: It has been seen, the players who become Captain in India, their performance level as a player decreases. Is it due to increased pressure?
Sehwag: I don’t think so. This is not factual and its just false perception.

Q: The word “Dabang” has been used for you, how are you feeling about it?
Sehwag: Film is good

And so questions kept on flowing in…



As we reached back home and surfed through the news channels, we were awfully shocked with the news coverage on one of the channels. The Media quoted “ Sehwag said he would love to be the captain and has challenged Dhoni. He feels that Sourav Ganguly was a much better captain than Dhoni. He gave best wishes to India for CWG.”

It’s high time our Media should understand the importance and responsibility of their position.
Anyway I have seen such misquotation of words in real life. In the end its media, the business people and they would of course add some extra spice to sell the news.

Are we living safe in our homes?

We have hopes from our future and we have dreams to fulfil. We all think we'll be able to fulfil them at sometime of our lives. But there is so much going on around us that it seems doomsday is near.
Major and ever existing problems affecting us are politics and corruption. Though politics don't interest me but no one can close eyes watching the troubles ahead, expecting an escape from them. So specially in our country politicians are smart, efficient and forsighted when it comes to their seats in election. They prefer to serve themselves more than serving the nation. Eating out crores of money and then declaring lack of funds for development, imposing the cost on general public is the kind of work most of them do!! And so we are once again spectators.. We go and vote to the political party we think is lesser dacoit!! Others vote, feeling ruling party must be changed every five years as prolonged rule means elongated power and increased corruption . No genuine person wants to step up in politics as it makes good ones bad.. Just like if ur sitting among blind people for long, you slowly starts ignoring the details as others. Details loose their value..
And when we talk about corruption, it seems to be an ever-lasting phenomena in our country that is becoming larger with time. Be it hospitals, politics, government offices, media or anywhere else, corruption is more or less there!!

And now never ending war of religion has been joined by war of region.
This Maharashtra issue is just too much to gulp!! Maharashtra for Marathis. Bravo!! So we are dividing this country into other small countries.. And if all the states comes up with the similar theory, we'd be no more a nation and we'll have to use our passports to go to other states. Why Governemnt is not using its energy to take out fugitives who are living here without any valid ID from this country. Why government is not using its energy in creating better job opportunities. Our proficient doctors and engineers are not getting jobs here and are moving abroad. And the kind of doctors we are going to get for ourselves will be the outcome of the raised quota for S.C. and S.T.s. This all looks as if this Government is following the old british Policy of 'divide n rule' by reminding ourselves of our castes, religions and regions to rule the nation and to retain its respective post. It is hardly concerned for the masses just for the sake of winning the seat in next election!!
Lastest being the nuclear deal issue. About which like majority of the people i too am not happy. The major issue of concern is zero transperancy of its contents. Nothing is clear as yet about it. Anyway cant blame it as we dont know what the other parties wud have done if they were in the same place.
And again another major issue of concern, decision regarding removing ban from SIMI (Students Islamic Movement of India) which has been engaged into terrorist activities in the nation as per reports.
So here we are rusting from outside and inside. Increased corruption, increased terrorism, Nuclear deal issue, religional war, regional war, our lost values, and changed preferences, increased murders, high rise in divorce rate, easy flow of money to younger lot, increase in people indulged in smoking and boozing, shorter temper of youngsters, and muders out of sudden fits of rage or to buy luxury and status between friends..
This was brief introduction of India today and a warning of what it can become tomorrow. So we are becoming worst of worsts. Are we really sure we are living safe in our homes with atleast fine, even if not great, future ahead??

My first payjama party :)

News channels are definetly leaving up their marks, in our lives,if not anywhere else. They are better hit than any television series today. They know how to spice up the news and how to spread sensation throughout as what they call it "sansani". One can find everything from emotions, action, comedy to romance, thrill, suspense here. They certainly are a big big hit.

I know u must be wondering the title is pajama party and now i am giving speech about news channels, what rubbish!! But be impatient as i was when all this happened...

I had been a prey of this news madness too, a month ago. It was 11.30 pm(i dont remember day and date), my mom and dad were about to sleep and we three viz me, my sis and my bro all were talking to each other in our room when suddenly our door bell rang. I became furious as who can be there at this time of the night and told my brother to accompany me to the door.. He asked me to stay behind and went downstairs. And as he opened the door, a neighbourhood kid yelled out loud "Bhaiya get out of the house, hurry up. Earthquake is about to come. Quick bhaiya.. tell everybody." And as it never happened before in our lives we were amazed and amused on what was happening. In the meanwhile my dad also went out and asked whats the issue all about. And the kid said "we dont know uncle, elders have asked us to the ring bell of each and every house in this line and tell them to get out of their respective homes."

So willingly or unwillingly we all went out from our respective hideouts. And it seemed as if some pajama party was going on outside. Certainly it was like some great getogether, everybody was in night suits. All people from our lane were out talking to each other disecting on whats happening and how come this news took birth. My parents joined a group to know the details. And i moved further after them. A girl, cousin sister of that kid who alarmed us, came to us holding a tray full of glasses and offered water. So yeah, kids were assigned this duty, and they were thoroughly enjoying it. So my parents enquired about the matter as howcome the news about earthquake was spread. And one of the uncles told us, that in zee news at 4'clock in the afternoon, some people were predicting that the earthquake may approach Delhi between 11.00 pm to 12.oo am. And so, we asked all our kids to alarm all the nearby neighbours. I messaged one of my friend to get out of her home too, (call it my love for her or reaction of the action that was taking place out of my home). She called me back and asked me to sleep and stop acting like insanes at midnight and for some couple of minutes she seemed hopeless to me. When i was trying to save her life, she was calling me insane. But later on i realised it too, news channels can say anything.

So everyone was out of their respective homes, and had divided themselves into small social groups whichever was best suiting them, and regular sounds of talking, murmuring, laughing were reaching our ears.. There was no sleep in any eye! Anyways i was enjoying this "nightout" too. And i dialed another number, this time it was my cousin's no., indore, and told him the whole story. He was amused and started enjoying the nearby sounds too.. Since he was tired after all day work i asked him to go to sleep.

In the meanwhile my brother and his friends were planning to play cricket. They didn't want to loose this opportunity. And i joined his group, as to know whats happening in another social group. And this was the group i enjoyed alot. We all were laughing, making jokes of news channels. They all started making a high end plan to give those news channels another news full of sensation . A sensation regarding UFOs. They were dividing the jobs among themselves as who will take the shoot, who will become alien, who will hold the light behind and finally who will give the interview to the channel. And after 5 minutes they all were playing cricket in the front park. Everything was utterly hilarious. People started to move back to their respective homes. And i went to call my brother back, when suddenly another kid sprayed up a deodrant over me.. yuck!! i hate such strong smells and specially during night when i have to sleep.. But instead of getting angry i was laughing as this was another game that kids had discovered during this weird confusion. After returning i switched on the television, and all the news channels were pouring different news as always(none was related to "EARTHQUAKE") unaware of the fact as what impact they had made in our lives 2 hours ago.. And now the road that seemed so lively couple of hours ago, was now falling into deep dark silience of night.
