Interesting! Really, Wow! :D Talking in broad terms, these are the two categories of the ideology of all of us, and at the end of the day it's all personal choices. But in my view, being happy at the end of the day is success in way, right?
I guess that too... In this competitive world we are losing the grip for small joys for that recognition and madness for success. Don't you think that priorities are changing?
Agreed with Ritvik, it's about the choices we make. But the fact is that a successful person may always not be happy, but a happy person will always have the feeling of being successful.
True! Agree on what u said. A happy person will be happy irrespective of success or no success. Success is a temporary phase or may be happiness is a temporary phase. Don't know. Asked the same thing from Ritvik above, don't you feel priorities are changing?
success is extrinsic value of human nature acquired from viewing this competitive world happiness is intrinsic attribute of every human|| we cannot compare these 2 as one exists in outer world and other exists in inner nature. This comparison is not valid. and for priorities amongst these type of words, this depends on individuals' thinking sphere/cone/cube/cuboid.... issue here is that we long for them,,,success...happiness ; but unlike to human nature, we should be only doing our pie of work without having these words in our minds,
and in end what we have, donot matter; while what we wonder and why we wonder..this matters||
Yes, you are right. Success is the outcome of our hardships and happiness is the outcome of our inner strength. May be the comparison is not valid. though sometimes i feel a person, in the end looks back on what he did, how he did, a fast recap of one's life's journey. But for that 'look back in tomorrow' we sometimes lose 'our today' and live in chaos!!! I dont know. Though we have "Maslow's self actualization theory where he suggests that we need self-fulfillment in the end." I guess for some a plain life and for some a successful life is something that gives them a sense of fulfillment.
Its good to get ur feedback :) (i still am not sure if i have made a valid point)
Well, not exactly. The meaning of success is subjective. It is different for different people. So, the definition defined by you has to be terms of happiness and not materialistic in nature.

DeleteNice post, profound questions you have asked Shesha...the answer lies in the choices we make in our lives. Which of the sides do you lie on Shesha?
ReplyDeleteI feel a happy and contended life wud help u in leading a successful life! Not sure... It has to be full of experiences and a happy ending.
DeleteYes, true but then the ability to bounce back from the negative situations should also be present, isn't it?
DeleteAbsolutely. Does that mean we need success to bounce back from those negative situations?
